The typical Leafs fan fantasizes about a Stanley Cup in Toronto 5.2 times a day.
The Toronto Maple Leaf Hockey Club Official Centennial Publication is probably the only book that I would ever recommend to anybody. It is packed to the rim with fascinating stories and memories. I just read about the 1967 (groan) Stanley Cup final between the Leafs and the Canadiens. That game sounds straight out of a story book. All the emotion and drama! For crying out loud, the freaking Prime Minister was there to watch the game!
After reading it, I began to wonder what would happen when the Leafs win the Cup. (All bad things must come to an end at some point) Who would they play? Would Justin Trudeau attend the game? How loud would the ACC be? How would I react? Well, I don’t know the answer to any of the other questions but I sure know what my reaction would be.
A water fountain.
I would sit there and cry and cry until my eyes shrivel up. All the heartbreak, the anger, and frustration would finally end and I would finally be free from this curse. Just thinking about it makes my eyes tear a bit.
Just once before I die, please?
