This season, the Toronto Blue Jays wear red uniforms every Sunday to celebrate Canada’s 150th anniversary of Confederation. Following today’s absolute embarrassment of a loss to the Houston Astros, I started wondering: “Are these red jerseys bad luck?”
When the Blue Jays wear their red jerseys, they have a record of 4 wins and 5 losses. That is a winning percentage of .444, whereas the regular jerseys they normally wear have a record of 37 wins and 41 losses which is a winning percentage of .474. That is a very slight change so really, those red jersey’s don’t cause any significant change of luck.
Whether they wear their red or their blue jerseys, one thing remains constant. The Blue Jays still cannot win consistently.
