The Blue Jays received welcome news on Friday when their star players Donaldson and Tulo returned to the lineup. Donaldson went 1 for 3 with a double, and Tulo got 2 walks. Then, Saturday afternoon, John Gibbons made the controversial decision of sitting the two players.
Personally, I didn’t mind the decision itself, but it does scare me. They just got back from bad injuries and Donaldson has had this injury for a while now. The fact that Donaldson and Tulo aren’t considered ready enough to play a day game after a night game, makes you wonder if they are 100% healthy.
It’s great that they are back in the lineup, but if they do need more time to fully recover, the Blue Jays aren’t going anywhere.
