May 13th, 2013 is a day that is seared into the brains of all Leafs fans.
Today marks the four year anniversary of the game 7 collapse at the hands of the Boston Bruins. It was devastating. But that was four years ago. A whole lot has changed since then.
But that was four years ago. A whole lot has changed since then.
The Leafs finally did a complete tear-down of the team. They hired the best coach in the world in Mike Babcock, a magician general manager in Lou Lamoriello, they finally acquired a dependable goaltender in Frederik Andersen, and they have legitimate superstars in Auston Matthews, William Nylander, and Mitch Marner.
It was a horrible loss. But it triggered the start of the rebuild, and that is something that we should all be forever grateful for.
