The Ottawa Senators and the Pittsburgh Penguins are now in the final four.
Ottawa Senators vs. Pittsburgh Penguins
WINNER: PITTSBURGH IN 5
Ottawa has been on an amazing playoff run, but Erik Karlsson is playing with a broken foot and he is their only player on the team with more than 10 points. Craig Anderson is looking a little more human with a .914 SV%, and they don’t have the offensive weapons like Pittsburgh does.
Pittsburgh will get Trevor Daley back and ready for game 1, and with Marc-Andre Fleury playing the way he is, the backend looks very stable for the Penguins. They have four players with 10 points or more (Malkin, Crosby, Guentzel, Kessel) and three very potent offensive lines. Any team with Crosby, Malkin, and Bonino as their top three centres is a dangerous team.
This series is one that I would not have predicted at the beginning of the playoffs. Ottawa is a great story, but they are not deep enough to beat the reigning Stanley Cup champions. I originally had the Penguins in six, but the more I thought and researched about it, the more it looked like an easy series for the Penguins.
