I’m not panicking, I’M NOT PANICKING!

Take a deep breath Leafs fans. This is the moment that you have been waiting for for 4 years. The Toronto Maple Leafs are playing meaningful games in April. That’s huge! No one would’ve ever predicted this at the end of the season! Auston Matthews has 39 goals! Frederik Andersen has 33 wins! We should be rejoicing!

But we can’t.

“How is it that the Toronto Maple Leafs always manage to play with our hearts every single year? I had no expectations in the beginning of the season and now I’m going to cry if they don’t make it to the playoffs! Now they’re going to lose both games and it’s going to be another reason why the Leafs will never win.” Every Leafs fan had this thought go through their mind. I had it to. But we all need to relax.

The season is not over. The Leafs need one win over either Pittsburg or Columbus. Both teams have nothing to play for and will be resting in preparation for the playoffs. The Leafs can do it.

They’ve beat both teams before and now our team has a little more experience under their belt. That Tampa game should’ve been a lesson to the entire bench of what a desperate team should look like and what overthinking can do to you.

Tonight, it’s the Leafs turn to be desperate. And if they don’t look desperate, they obviously don’t care about the playoffs.
